Chelan Landry signed a National Letter of Intent this past week to play for Coach Joe Legerski and our Wyoming Cowgirls beginning in the fall of 2010. Chelan is a 5-9 point guard from Milwaukee, Wisconsin who brings a winning attitude and a high level of energy to her team and to the court. Chelan led her Milwaukee Vincent High School team to 3-straight high school state championships. Chelan is a terrific floor leader and her ball handling, court vision and quickness make her very effective in both half court and full court play. She takes pride in making others around her better, and she finds open players and gets them the basketball before it’s obvious that they are open. On the defensive end, Chelan puts pressure on her opponent with her aggressive on-ball defense and her long arms. She will get on the floor after loose balls and she pushes the ball up in offensive transition to dish to an open teammate or pull up for a jumper.
She and her family are thrilled to be a part of the Wyoming family. When Chelan signed her NLI her whole family became Cowboys and Cowgirls! We welcome our newest Wisconsin Cowgirl and her wonderful and supportive Wisconsin family to WYOMING!!!
